Why this shape
Wider and longer is the entire point: a standard bib leaves your hips and thighs exposed exactly where you lean into a bench, and a taller cook runs out of apron before the knee. Cotton canvas is the heavy end of apron cloth — it takes a splash without soaking straight through to your clothes, and it breaks in rather than wearing out. An adjustable buckle neck strap beats a tied loop because it holds the same length every shift instead of creeping.
- Good for
- High-volume service, taller cooks, butchery and any station where a standard bib runs out of coverage.
- Not for
- Front-of-house serving — canvas this heavy reads as kitchen, not dining room, and a waist apron moves better for carrying.
- Care
- Machine wash and tumble dry; canvas softens with each cycle. Wash before first service so the cloth relaxes into the way you tie it.
