The coat you actually cook in — knit, moisture-wicking, and dark enough to survive a full service.

Why this shape
A knit body behaves like a shirt rather than a jacket: it moves with the shoulder instead of resisting it, and moisture-wicking is not a marketing line on a hot line — a soaked cotton coat gets heavy and stays cold against your back for the rest of the shift. Black is the working choice. It is the colourway that does not record every splash, which is why most cooks who buy their own coats buy this one and keep the white for the days someone is watching.
- Good for
- Hot lines, long doubles, prep days and anyone who launders their own coats.
- Not for
- Formal front-of-house where the house standard is a pressed white coat.
- Care
- Machine wash and tumble dry. Wash dark colours together for the first few cycles so the black stays black.
