Why this shape
Modular only means anything if the small pieces exist: a drawer is never the width of one holder, and the leftover strip is where a paring knife ends up loose against the drawer wall — which is the exact thing the system was bought to stop. At eleven dollars these are the cheapest edge insurance in the kitchen, and you buy however many the gap takes rather than accepting a block's fixed layout.

- Long blades — a small module is exactly that, and a 210mm gyuto wants the large piece.
