Why this shape
Slim is the harder cut to get right in a kitchen: take the volume out of the leg and most pants stop you bending. This one is sized by waist measurement rather than S/M/L, which is why it can be cut close and still fit — a 32 is a 32, not a guess between two letters. The trade is deliberate: less fabric flapping near a burner and a cleaner line in an open kitchen, in exchange for a fit you have to size honestly.
