Why this shape
The lid is a 10.5-inch ridged grill pan, so the set is genuinely two pans rather than a pot with a lid you store separately. Ridges are the point: they lift meat off its own fat and leave the marks that a flat surface cannot. Six quarts underneath handles a stew or a loaf. Victoria pre-seasons in flaxseed oil and publishes no synthetic coating, so the surface is iron that improves rather than a film that eventually fails.
