Why this shape

Signals is the smoker-pit thermometer ThermoWorks builds for the cook running a brisket for fourteen hours who needs to see pit and meat temperatures on a phone from inside the house — four channels means three meat probes and one air probe simultaneously, so the cook tracks the flat, the point, the deckle, and the chamber in one screen instead of three tools. Built-in WiFi and Bluetooth mean the cook pairs it to the ThermoWorks app and reads from anywhere within range of the home network, not just from within Bluetooth line-of-sight, and an integrated rechargeable lithium battery runs sixteen hours unplugged so the device survives a long smoke without a wall outlet. A 90-decibel alarm is loud enough to reach across a backyard patio at party volume and the IP66 splash-resistant housing survives a hose-down after the cook. A NIST-traceable calibration certificate ships in the box, and the same Pro-Series probe and silicone-jacketed 700°F cable that the ChefAlarm and DOT use survives the closed lid of a smoker.

Good for
Long smoker cooks (brisket, pork butt, beef ribs) where the cook monitors pit and three meats from a phone; competition BBQ where every team member needs a real-time channel; catering rigs cooking multiple cuts at once; WiFi-enabled outdoor kitchens where the cook does not want to stand next to the smoker.
Not for
Casual one-temperature cooks where a $174 WiFi thermometer is overkill — the DOT recorded alongside is half the price and does the single-channel alarm job. Signals earns its slot only when the cook uses all four channels or the WiFi remote read.
Care
IP66 splash-resistant housing. Wipe exterior with a damp cloth; do not expose probe connector to direct water. Probes and cables follow ThermoWorks Pro-Series instructions and are oven and grill safe to 700°F. ThermoWorks publishes this verbatim on the product page.
