Why this shape
FINEX builds the handle as a coiled spring rather than a solid bar, and the reason is thermal: air between the coils means the grip stays cooler for longer than cast iron that runs straight from the bowl to your hand. The octagonal rim gives eight pour points instead of two spouts, so fat and pan sauce come off whichever way the pan happens to be facing. It is a different design language from a traditional round skillet, and both the handle and the rim are answers to real complaints about cooking in iron.
- Good for
- Searing, roasting, pan sauces and anyone who has burned a hand on a solid iron handle.
- Not for
- Stacking in a tight cupboard — the coil handle and octagonal rim do not nest the way a plain round pan does.
- Care
- Hand wash warm and dry on the heat, then oil thinly. The coil handle traps water between the loops — dry it deliberately.
